Hello everyone!

Tom here, I've just joined MKARS prior to taking the intermediate course in January which I looking forward to. Although holding my M3 for about 4 years now I've not been active on any bands until very recently when I spent far more than the wife was happy with on a TS2000 and ATU. When eventully set up I managed to get my very first two contacts into Southern Spain a couple of weeks back, I possibly got a bit over excited about it!
Main interests are HF, PSK SSTV and hopefully satelite after the intermediate exam, QTH is High Wycombe and I'm up on one of the many hills which works in my favour!

Look forward to meeting you all!

Hello Tom and welcome, both to MKARS and the MKARS forums. The forums are a good way of keeping in touch, especially for those members who live a bit further away, so I hope you will enjoy using them. Well done on the contacts into Spain - what antenna are you using?

Thanks for the welcome!

I'm cheating a bit, the antenna is a long wire coupled to a CG3000 ATU. Seems to work well for me abeit only twice.

What's cheating about that? If it works, it works!

Hi Tom, welcome from another new member. I joined while on the recent foundation course. I'll also be on January's intermediate course. You have an interesting auto ATU, I'd like to hear more about it during coffee breaks during next years course.
