CHIRP !

Postby G1MZD on Wed Sep 13, 2017 1:43 pm

Unable to download to radio, have made a change to the channels in the program which it has saved but sub port com3 will not open same for port 4.
Its not done this before ( error 5 access is denied )
Looks like it would work the other way round where the radio is highlighted but not for downloading to the radio (Baofeng BF888 )
Any help would be appreciated.

so will it read from the radio and let you write the same memories straight back to it again ?
I think I've seen programming software before where it needs to read from the radio first before writing becomes an option. (possibly a saftey feature)
Hopefully you can read in the old memories,
open your new file over the top then write it to the radio.

It's already on the PC as I've used it before, I just needed to make one change but it's just not letting me download from the radio or upload. I've saved the change but still the same.
Never had a problem before.

Do you see the com port come and go in Device Manager as you plug and unplug the cable ?

Thanks Malcolm I've had a few issues with the laptop lately but the plug is detected, but now haven't got the time to re program the H/H for the Guernsey repeater but have got the IOW which maybe worth trying when I'm in range.
