The foundation training course is there nto help you into the world of amateur radio. It is kept simple so that people of all ages can get into the hobby. We have had students from 8 to 80+ on the courses.

Foundation training courses are normally run in the evening from 7-9pm from January for 8 weeks with an exam at the end. The course is run in Milton Keynes as well as the exam.

You will need the latest edition copy of 'Foundation Now', available from the RSGB or other suppliers. It is reccommended that you bring along a notepad and pen for the evening sessions.
A simple calculator may be required.

The course evening are split into two.. the first part is a Powerpoint training session and the second part is a practical. The course requires you to carry out these practicals as without them the exam cannot be taken. Those professional people who have an engineering background will still need to carry out these practicals.

The costs for the course are as follows:-
Club membership/insurance is £25 payable on the first night or over the internet
Once the course is almost complete and the exam date agreed then the exam fee of £27.50 will need to be paid through us to the RSGB
An exam venue fee of between £3-5 will also be required at the same time
